Halloween is coming and we’re excited to announce the return of our spooky community activity – Sussex County Spooktacular!
This is year two of our COUNTYWIDE Halloween Decorating Challenge and we’re inviting you to be part of this growing tradition.
Sussex County Spooktacular – Creating Memories Together
Our mission with Sussex County Spooktacular is to help our community create amazing memories with their families!
Halloween comes and goes so fast. One minute you see Halloween candy on the store shelves, the next minute Christmas decorations are popping up everywhere. With our busy schedules and fast paced lives, we often don’t take the time to stop and smell the dead roses, or in this case, take in the spooky Halloween light displays.
So we are challenging our community to dust off your Witch’s hat, let the skeletons out of your closet, and dig up those lights and inflatables to decorate your house, yard, tractors, or anything else on your property with Halloween screams!
After all the cursing is done you’ll step back and look at your creation with pride, knowing you made something fun for the community to see.
Take the Challenge – Share Your Halloween Spirit
Challenge yourself to create a Halloween display and share it with Sussex County families looking for spooky fun! When you enter Sussex County Spooktacular, you’re not just decorating – you’re contributing to a community resource that helps families discover the BEST Halloween displays throughout our county.
Your submission will be featured on our interactive map, making it easy for families to find your display and enjoy the Halloween magic you’ve created.
How to Participate
The Challenge is Simple:
- Decorate your home, yard, or property for Halloween
- Submit basic information and photo(s) of your display
- Include your display address so families can visit
- Be proud knowing you’re spreading Halloween joy in Sussex County!
The Community Benefit
When you enter Sussex County Spooktacular, your display gets featured on our interactive map of Sussex County, giving our community a convenient resource to find amazing Halloween displays to visit with their families.
We always see posts in the community asking where to go for Halloween displays. This is the ULTIMATE guide available right on your mobile phone! Families can tap on your entry and get driving directions to see your display. So even if you live out in the “sticks,” the community will still know how to find your awesome Halloween creation.

- Open to: All Sussex County Residents and Businesses
- Entry Period Begins: October 1, 2025
- Community Guide Goes Live: October 1, 2025
- Display Season: Through October 31, 2025
