Too many lives have been lost and too many people have struggled in silence due to the stimga attached to addiction. Many others have suffered because they lacked hope and the resources to obtain help.
Few lives have been void of the impact of substance use and addiction; whether a family member, friend or other, most everyone knows or has known someone who has the potential to improve their life, if only they could access and receive the help they need.
Fortunately, awareness efforts, such as this walk, and free programs offered by the Center for Prevention & Counseling for 50 years have helped to change this! Our 10th Annual Recovery Walk is family-friendly community event that remembers lives lost to addiction, create a trauma-informed, stigma-free environment for people to seek help, and supports the awareness of resources and programs to help and support long-term recovery.
Funds raised from the walk also support school and community-based prevention program that equip youth with the education and skills to make healthy lifestyle choices, increase their resilience, and develop positive support systems to reduce their likelihood of underage use of alcohol, vaping, marijuana, and other drugs.
Enjoy kids activities (face painting, temporary tattoos, giant lawn games, and more!)
