Omar Hakim & Sonic Boom Squad

Omar Hakim, is a renowned American drummer, producer, arranger and composer. His remarkable career spans across rock and pop music, R&B jazz and jazz fusion. His prolific session work history includes collaborations with an array of icons such as Daft Punk (on their multi Grammy Award winning album “Random Access Memories”), Sting, David Bowie, Dire Straits, Madonna, Journey, Foo Fighters, Weather Report and Miles Davis. 2025 marks the beginning of yet another chapter in Hakim’s illustrious career with the launch of his new band, Sonic Boom Squad.

SBS will play songs from the forthcoming album, “Come Out To Play”, which not only features Hakim’s drumming but showcases his skills as a vocalist, guitarist, keyboardist and songwriter. Joining Hakim in SBS is Paul Pesco (guitar, backing vocals) Jon Toscano (bass, percussion, drums and backing vocals) and Rachel Z Hakim (keyboards). Sharlene Nelson and Samora Free are also backing vocals.
