Explore Peters Valley School of Craft, one of the country’s premier craft schools, during our Annual Art in the Park Day on Saturday, May 25th from 11am-4pm. The historic campus is nestled amid the beauty of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, one mile from the Dingmans Ferry Bridge, in Layton, N.J.
Visitors will be treated to artist demonstrations of the various crafts that are taught at Peters Valley such as: Blacksmithing, Ceramics, Fibers, Fine Metals, Printmaking, Weaving and Woodworking. Hands-on activities for children and adults will be offered in multiple media, too! Craft exhibitors, demonstrators and community organizations will be located in “Valley Central” displaying and selling their work. This is an outdoor event, and visitors will also be welcome to tour our Ceramics and Blacksmithing studios where demonstrations will also be taking place. Peters Valley staff will be available to answer questions and take registrations for adult and teen workshops.
In addition to the Peters Valley Gallery’s first floor, which showcases and sells the work of over 250 artisans, the second floor Sally D. Francisco Gallery will be showing the exhibition Making Matters, featuring artwork from our summer workshop Instructors and Peters Valley staff members. A gallery pop-up tent will showcase expanded collections from some of the gallery consignors.
There will be food and live music throughout the day. Bus groups are welcome and can be arranged by contacting the office. Sorry, no pets will be allowed on campus during this event.
