Are you a pet or animal lover? Do you have your own furry or feathered friends at home, or know others with animal companions? All animals are welcome to join Pastor Jack at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Sparta, NJ on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 10 AM for a special Blessing of the Animals. The blessing will take place in the parking lot rain or shine. We invite all animals (leashed, caged, crated). There will be a free drawing for either a dog or cat basket along with goodie served.
This special event commemorates the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, when animals have been blessed since the middle ages. No saint is more closely associated with animals than St. Francis of Assisi. He rejoiced in the value and beauty animals bring to creation.
All pets are welcome to bring their humans, of course! We hope to see you and your furry, feathered, fuzzy, and finny companions on October 7th.
